I’m a big fan of @gymandmotivation, and his playlist has gotten me through quite a few hours of lifting heavy things. So I took a few other songs he’s posted in the past and made two fan playlists of sorts, mostly because I needed more of this to work out to.
Playlist 1: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/415803/Gym_&_Motivation_II.m4a
Playlist 2: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/415801/Gym_&_Motivation_III.m4a
Download these things and everyone’ll be ‘mirin’ at the gym. Got it?

(You can name them whatever you want, but I like storing them in my mp3 the same place where I put his. Because, you know. Consistency.)
Two friends who have never run before signed up for Color Me Rad with me!!! I told them I would help them train and we have until April—and I’ve heard couch to 5k works really well—but if anyone has any tips or suggestions they’d be much appreciated!
Both friends are skinny-fat average builds with no history of health problems or injuries, so it shouldn’t be too hard for them. AND we have until the end of April.
My plan was put them on that for 9 weeks, but I think everyone would probably benefit from doing shin exercises, calf raises, squats… other things to build leg muscles. But I’m not sure if those would be best done on rest days or after running?
Once again—advice please!!
I just signed up for Color Me Rad in Hartford for April 27 :) I did one last year with @newconnellygirl (that’s how we met for the first time!) and it was great.
Message me if you wanna meet up and run!!!
Less than two years ago I could barely walk, stand, or sit because of my arthritus and slipped disk.
Today I ran 5k on my lunchbreak in under 33min. Less than 11mile/minute, with my fastest single-mile time being 9:16 a few weeks back.
LIKE A BOSS. THAT’S FUCKING RIGHT.
Polar Bear Dash! @newconnellygirl and I ran in 40*F like champs. (The picture of the two of us is her on the left, me on the right. We met on Tumblr and it’s been bromance ever since!)
The race entry fee was donations to a local domestic violence shelter and that made it all the better.
Fitblrs Against DV! <3

@newconnellygirl is coming up from Long Island and we’re gonna run around in shorts outside and then fitspo play date!
(Thankfully my throat is feeling better so I’m probably not sick, but running a sprint in freezing weather without real clothes might push my body over the edge. Will be worth it!!)
I’m sure there’ll be others that pop up along the way, but any ones I’m missing?
IT HAS BEGUN.

Our love has not only transgressed the bounds of Tumblr, but that of the Internet. IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN LIKE THIS.
MORE IMPORTANTLY:
#teamfitblr is going to bring it like bosses at the Albany Color Me Rad. Are you meeting up with us or what?
\m/
I’m thinking I want to run 365 miles in 365 days. It seems totally doable to me right now, and I know I’ll just keep getting better at it. I ran almost 12 in the past five days which was pushing it pretty hard, and 5 seems totally doable. I wouldn’t even have to run every day—just 7 miles total a week.

Arthritis willing, this could be really cool. Especially because I ran my first mile (for my whole life) last October.
Going to sleep on it and maybe buy an ole’ fashion print calender in the morning… thoughts?
I’ve decided to bring my makeup kit to partially body paint our team. Serious business.
FITBLR MEET UP
ALBANY, NEW YORK - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
Okay guys! We’re officially going to do this! All Fitblrs from the New York / New England area are invited for a Fitblr meet-up at Color Me Rad! Registration is $45 if you do it before July 27, and $55 between then and race day.

Color Me Rad (like Color Run) is an awesome 5k where, every kilometer, you get dumped with a new color. By the end, we’re all gonna end up looking like walking (or running) tye dye.
Come and run with us for #TeamFitblr or run by yourself and meet us for lunch afterwards. We’ll be meeting near by at 8am (one hour before the race).
Never run a race before? Check out the Couch to 5k Plan and start training now! You have two months do train your body to do something amazing.

RSVP to @marissalosesit to get race details as they’re announced by CMR: http://www.tumblr.com/meetup/11156
If you’ve never been to Albany, it’s about 2hrs away from most of Connecticut or Mass, 3hrs away from NYC, 3hrs from Boston, and super close to the southern Vermont border. What are you waiting for!?
I fucking went through the five stages of grieving within 2 minutes
Denial - Oh, I’m sure there’s another date or something I can get in

Anger - WTF is wrong with them of course it would sell out!

Bargaining - Maybe I can like become a volunteer and still get in…..

Depression - I’m never running again… there’s no point in training any more…

Acceptance - I guess I can do the bootleg Color Me Rad in Albany in September? Does anyone live in New England / New York that would wanna commit with me? Fitblr meetup?

Hopefully I can squeeze in one more. I’m coming for you @newconnellygirl. This fitocracy duel ain’t over ‘til it’s over.
Two days left and it’s 6.5 miles (me) to 7.3 miles (her). Girl is keeping me so motivated.
So I come home like a badass from the gym

and I go to log my workout on Fitocracy. @newconnellygirl and I are dueling for most miles run in a week so I figure I’m nice and caught up, but when I go to her page

and she’s totally still beating me. It’s only the second day but STILL.

So I literally went right back out the door for another mile. LIKE A BOSS. She’s still winning but not for long ;)
I take this all very seriously.

Full moon running through a university campus and it was stunning. I’m going to make a habit of this because I felt like I could run forever. I only stopped because we were away from home and my boyfriend was waiting for me by the car.
1.2 miles which ain’t half bad, considering I ran a mile a few hours before hand and it’s only my third time running outside.
